// Functions
//
//o, the question is how to make a redirect page, and not how to redirect to a website?
//
//You only need to use JavaScript for this. Here is some tiny code that will create a dynamic redirect page.
//
//script>
//
//
//function myFunction() {
//    document.getElementById("demo").innerHTML = "Hello World";
//}
//put in html/ <script type="text/javascript" src="http://w.sharethis.com/widget/stblogger2.js"> end script>
//
//can the function style of below examples added for url [01/26/2015]
var url = window.location.search.split('url=')[1]; //after ?url get
//
//
//if( url ) window.location.replace(url);
//
if ( url ) window.location.replace(url);//if ( url ) window.location.replace(url);
//if ( url ) window.location.replace(url);
//if( url ) window.location.replace('url',
//
// '_blank');
//    var url = window.location.search.split('url=')[1]; // Get the URL after ?url=
//    if( url ) window.location.replace(url);
//
//
//script>
//So say you just put this snippet into a redirect/index.html file on your website you can use it like so.
//
//http://www.mywebsite.com/redirect?url=http://stackoverflow.com
//And if you go to that link it will automatically redirect you to stackoverflow.com.
//
//
//
//Link to Documentation
//And that's how you make a Simple redirect page with JavaScript
//
//Edit:
//
//There is also one thing to note. I have added window.location.replace in my code because I think it suits a //redirect page, but, you must know that when using window.location.replace and you get redirected, when you press //the back button in your browser it will not got back to the redirect page, and it will go back to the page before //it, take a look at this little demo thing.
//
//Example:
//
//The process: store home => redirect page to google => google
//
//When at google: google => back button in browser => store home
//So, if this suits your needs then everything should be fine. If you want to include the redirect page in the //browser history replace this
//
//
//
//**if( url ) window.location.replace(url);
//with
//
//
//
//**if( url ) window.location.href = url;
//dynamic javassscript redirection http://stackoverflow.com/questions/503093/how-can-i-make-a-redirect-page
//
//?url=
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//
//<div class="commenthidden" id="chickletlistshortcuts">
//
//
//
//way to put image links in a drop down menu. CptCanuck offered the hide/show solution which is so much better for //this.
//
//Here are the steps involved. It has three parts. First you must enter the following code in your style sheet:
//
//css
//**.commenthidden *display:none*
//**.commentshown *display:inline*
//Second put this between the <head> and </head> tags, butnot in the style sheet:
//
//<script type="text/Javascript">
//function togglecomments (postid) {
//var whichpost = document.getElementById(postid);
//if (whichpost.className=="commentshown") {
// whichpost.className="commenthidden"; } else }
// whichpost.className="commentshown"; }
//
//script>
//
function togglecomments (postid)
{  var whichpost = document.getElementById(postid);
if (whichpost.className=="commentshown")
{  whichpost.className="commenthidden"; }
else
{ whichpost.className="commentshown"; }
}
///script>
//
//
////
//Third put this in your sidebar where you want it to appear:
//
//
//<a aiotitle="click to expand" href="javascript:togglecomments('UniqueName')"
//>Title</a><br />
//<div class="commenthidden" id="UniqueName"
//></div>
//
//
//This is what my code looks like:
//
//<a aiotitle="click to expand" href="javascript:togglecomments('chickletlist')">I love Chicklets...+/-</a><br /><br>
//<div class="commenthidden" id="chickletlist">
//<a title="Blogger Forum, the Blogging community" target="_blank" href="http://www.bloggerforum.com/">
//<img border="0" src="http://www.bloggerforum.com/images/bf5.gif" width="80" height="15"></a>
//</div>
//The UniqueName had me puzzled but CptCanuck explained that it had to be a name that was 'unique' from any other in //my template. So, I called it chickletlist. Next give it a title. I chose I love Chicklets...+/-. The actual link //is// placed between the <div></div> elements. You may add links until you feel the need to move on.
//
//Edit 5/24/06: Today I saw a post over atFreshblog that discusses the Hide/Show hack. Somehow by reading different //links, I ended up at Singpo
//
// get element by id

//

  1. Hi would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re using?
    I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different browsers and I
    must say this blog loads a lot faster then most.
    Can you recommend a good web hosting provider at a honest price?

      Hey, I think your site might be having browser
      compatibility issues. When I look at your blog in Ie, it
      looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it
      has some overlapping. I just wanted to give you
      a quick heads up! Other then that, great blog!

      In above (^: … blog in Ie …. but when opening in Internet Explorer.) submitted comment, I’d look into the issue yet am requesting a bit of clarification and further explanation (This may be partly because of lacking long term use of my blogging software). Is the post entry in your question “fine” in summary view on main site URI? And the opening in Ie opens the actual post page itself?

      Are you opening the same URI Location in both browsers and having such an error there or do you click to go to a post-specific page somewheres in your visit? This will help me tailor down troubleshoot to get me along in the right direction from your heads-up! Thank you for your time to visit and input in this comment.

      In viewing my CSS I have isolated element ‘.site-content article {height:VALUE}’
      In developer mode of browser removing assosciated attribute to this element appears to fix your input error on my part. I am heading onto DreamWeaver for application of this and on your next visit feel free to reply here again and let me know if it’s a ‘fix’ :).

      Thanks again for your input.
      Try and head back over and find your error solved. Did my fix help?

  5. An impressive share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing a little analysis on this. And he in fact bought me breakfast because I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading more on this topic. If possible, as you become expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more details? It is highly helpful for me. Big thumb up for this blog post!

    1. Belen Klegin, Congratulations for the well-deserved breakfast. I too enjoy programming topics yet sometimes am unable to fully grasp the code’s context initially. The sharing with another is an option I should look into as a cross-analysis of more than one mind definitely helps smooth out the stumbling blocks of confusion and clarifications. I can continue to post with these categories. I’m by no means a programmer in these languages so before I attempt to republish a blurb of snippet I find I try to scale out its quality and effectiveness thru some research around the Internet. Here’s to more treated-out breakfasts and peer coffee sessions. 🙂
